Business Website Pages: The 9 Pages That Win Customers in Uganda
Key Takeaways
- →Five pages cover most small businesses: homepage, about, services, pricing, contact. Add the rest as you grow.
- →Portfolio, FAQ, team and blog pages are what turn a brochure website into one that wins jobs.
- →A 5-page SEO-ready website costs 600K UGX one-time from toexee. The page count matters less than what you put on each page.
The 5 Pages Every Business Website Needs
Every week a Kampala business owner asks us the same question: how many pages does my website need? Usually they have been quoted per page by another agency and want to know what they are paying for. The honest answer: start with five pages, add four more when you are ready to grow. The five core pages answer the questions every new visitor has: who are you, what do you sell, how much does it cost, and how do I reach you.
Homepage
The homepage has one job: tell a visitor what you do within three seconds. Put your main service in the headline, not your company name. A visitor should see your phone number and WhatsApp button without scrolling, plus one clear call to action, usually call us or get a quote. "We install solar systems in Kampala and deliver within 48 hours" is a headline. "Welcome to Sunshine Energy Ltd" is a signpost. The first one gets calls, the second gets ignored. We audit sites every week where the homepage says "welcome to our website" and nothing else. That is a wasted page.
About page
Ugandans buy from people. The about page is where you show who runs the business: names, photos, your story, why you started. It is the page a new customer reads before deciding whether to call. A business with no about page looks like it has something to hide.
Services page
List what you sell, what is included, and what it costs, or say "request a quote" if pricing varies. Name each service the way your customers search for it. If you install solar systems, the page says solar installation Kampala, not "our solutions". This is also your main SEO page: it is the one Google shows for your service keywords.
Pricing page
Real numbers on a pricing page filter out tire kickers and bring in buyers. Kampala shoppers compare two or three businesses before they call, and the one that shows prices gets the call. If you cannot publish a fixed price, publish a starting price or a range. A price range beats a "contact us" button on its own.
Contact page
Phone number, WhatsApp, email, physical address, opening hours, and a Google Map pin. This sounds obvious, but we audit sites weekly where the contact page is a form with no phone number. In Uganda, most enquiries come through phone and WhatsApp, not forms. Make the number impossible to miss.
The 4 Pages That Separate You From Competitors
The five core pages get you online. These four turn your website into a sales tool. Add them one at a time as the business grows.
Portfolio or case studies
Show real work with real numbers. "We rebuilt 23 shop fronts in Kikuubo" beats "ten years of experience" every time. Use photos of your actual projects, before and after where possible. Each case study should name the client type, the problem, what you did, and the result in numbers. Three case studies like that beat a gallery of 30 photos with no context. This is the page that wins jobs against other agencies, because it proves you have done the work.
FAQ page
Write down the ten questions you answer on WhatsApp every day: delivery time, payment methods, warranty, minimum order, service areas. A FAQ page answers these before the customer asks, and it captures search traffic from people typing those exact questions into Google.
Team page
Faces and names of the people customers will deal with. This matters most for professional services, where the customer is buying the person, not the company.
Blog
A blog captures search traffic that service pages cannot. Each post targets one question your customers ask. One post a week for six months puts 25 pages of content between you and your competitors, and every post is a new door into your site.
What Not to Put on Your Website
Watch out for: "under construction" pages. Google indexes them, you rank for nothing, and visitors bounce. Launch with fewer pages that are complete, not more pages that are empty. A one-page site with no contact details is worse than no site at all.
Thin pages are the other common mistake. One paragraph per page, copied from a template, is filler. Google treats near-duplicate pages as low quality and ranks none of them. One strong page beats three weak ones.
Red flag: outdated information. We regularly find sites with 2023 prices, dead phone numbers and old addresses. Ugandans notice, and they move to the competitor whose site is current. Review your prices and contact details every six months.
What Business Website Pages Cost in Uganda
A 5-page SEO-ready website from toexee costs 600K UGX one-time and goes live in five working days. That covers the five core pages, mobile optimisation, hosting, SSL, and on-page SEO. Pages beyond the five, like portfolio or blog, are quoted per page.
Template shops charge 300K to 500K UGX. They drop your logo into a purchased design, with no SEO and no custom structure, and the code is often bloated enough that the site never ranks. Agencies charge 2M to 5M UGX and above. You are paying for account managers and office rent, not better pages. The pages are the same five.

Start with the five core pages, get them right, and go live. Most businesses never need more than seven. Add portfolio, FAQ, team and blog based on what customers actually ask for, not because a salesperson quoted you fifteen pages.
How Many Pages Is Too Many?
We have audited 20-page websites where nine pages say the same thing in slightly different words. Google reads them as duplicates and ranks none of them. The test for every page: does it answer a question a customer would type into Google or ask on WhatsApp? If not, cut it. A 6-page site where every page has a job will outperform a 20-page site with filler, every time.
Online stores are the exception. If you sell products, every product needs its own page, and a small shop can easily run 30 to 50 pages. That works because each product page answers a real search: the product name. For a service business, more pages rarely means more enquiries.
Frequently Asked Questions
